Mary and her sister, Gladys, made hundreds of quilts for cancer patients and for veterans at the Saginaw VA Hospital, along with knitting many hats for service men and women. Mary loved going shopping with Gladys and best friend, Val Rankin. Those shopping trips usually included an ice cream cone. Mary was a great baker and considered the “Cookie Queen” by her granddaughters. She was a seamstress, making most of Roy’s clothing when he was young. Mary enjoyed quilting and reading most of all.
