Malcolm MacKenzie, age 86, of Lake Orion, MI, died Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Lake Orion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Malcolm Colin MacKenzie was born September 25, 1936, in Warren, OH. He is the son of the late Roderick and the late Margaret (MacRae) MacKenzie. He grew up and lived in the Port Huron (St. Clair County) area. Malcolm is a graduate of St. Clair High School. He continued his education at Ferris State University where he earned his Master’s Degree in Pharmacy. He married Joy Schwinkendorf on June 29, 1991, in Plymouth, MI. They moved to the Lake Orion area in 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, in 2022.
Malcolm owned and operated MacKenzie Pharmacy in Rattle Run, MI. He later retired from CVS in 1998.
Malcolm is survived by sister-in-law, Janice (Hal) Hooks of Imlay City, MI; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy MacKenize; parents, Roderick and Margaret MacKenzie; his brother Alister MacKenzie; and sister Flora St. Germain.
A graveside burial of ashes will take place 11 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2023, at Lakeshore Cemetery in Port Huron, MI.
Arrangements for Malcolm’s cremation were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
