Roland Dee Kesler, age 75, of Dryden, MI peacefully passed away at his home, surrounded by his children Saturday, September 9, 2023. Roland was born February 11, 1948, in Fort Payne, Alabama. He is the son of the late Irby Lee and the late Viola Perlina (Gibson) Kesler.
The youngest of 10 siblings, Ossie Leon, William Glen, Aubrey Allen, Doris Rose, Betty Jo, Lavenice, Joel Lamar, Myra Nell, and David Lee. Roland loved playing all sports but excelled in football, he was also a 1st chair trumpet player at North Eastern High school, where he graduated in 1967. He attended Wayne State University with an all sports and music scholarship. Roland started at Ford Motor Company in 1970, and retired after 38 years. He loved playing softball for the UAW. In retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, his vehicles, traveling, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Roland is survived by his brother, Aubrey Kesler; his children, Shyla Kesler, Maurice (Ashley) Kesler, and Serena Kesler; his grandchildren Samuel Proulx, Chance Schneider, Griffin Kesler; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 8 siblings.
The funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, 202,3 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Roland’s nephew, Joseph Kesler will be officiating. Burial will follow in Attica Township Cemetery, Attica, MI.
The family will be available for visitation 2-5 & 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 11 and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, September 12 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
