Lester Edwin Knust, age 80, a local resident of Almont, passed away on Sunday September 3, 2023, in Leonard, MI. Lester was born April 13, 1943, the son on Walter H. and Ethel (Sutton) Knust. Lester was a graduate of Romeo High School. He then married Barbara Ebeling on August 27, 1966, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Imlay City. Lester dairy farmed his whole life, and enjoyed playing on his excavator.
Lester is survived by his wife Barbara Knust, of Almont; daughter-in-law Susan Knust of Dryden; siblings Eleanor Mehl of Almont, LoisAnn Burke of Romeo, Walter H. Knust of Almont, Richard (Jan) Knust of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law Walter Bublitz of Lapeer; grandchildren David (Kathleen) Knust of Imlay City, Kelly (Frank) Lams, and Jessica Knust; great grandchildren Madison Knust and Edgar Lamb. Lester is preceded in death by his sons, Benny Knust in 1981, David Knust in 2007, and Scott Knust in 1997; siblings Virginia Bublitz, Don Knust, and Russell Knust.
Funeral services were held on Friday September 8, 2023, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Ferguson Cemetery in Almont, MI.
