Charles “Chuck” A. Willing, age 80, passed away on August 18, 2023, at his home in Dickinson, TX. He battled cancer valiantly and courageously, and in the end, he faced his challenges with a smile.
Chuck was a 1961 graduate of Almont High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army as an M.P. based in Verona, Italy. He worked at Pontiac Motors before starting his own masonry business in Almont. For the past 34 years, he worked as an Estimator/Project Manager for DL Meacham Construction in Houston.
Chuck was an avid fisherman and hunter, ranging from Galveston to Montana and even Argentina. He was never more at home than when taking the reins at an all-night graduation pig roast, a holiday turkey deep fry, or an open-fire fresh venison campsite.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; his daughter, Crissy Lampton of Auburn Hills; his son, Curt Willing of Darien, CT; and four grandchildren: Jordan, Taylor, Claire, and Christian. He is also survived by his siblings: David (Donna) Willing, Linda Davis, Sally (Jim) Ligon, and Janet Lesner; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, James and Dennis.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Houston on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
