ALMONT — Plans are underway to induct five people into the Almont Athletic Hall of Fame for their contributions to the Raider athletic program. A ceremony honoring the five inductees will be held Friday, September 8 at 6 p.m. in the high school gymnasium, prior to the start of the battle on the gridiron between Almont and Imlay City. A second brief ceremony will be held during halftime of the game. This year’s inductees are: Dale Schultz (contributor), Frank Bacholzky (contributor), Dr. Roger Spalding (athlete), Melissa Gomez (athlete) and John Bacholzky, a 1995 graduate and former athlete at Almont. Anyone wishing to donate to the Athletic Hall of Fame can make checks payable to: Almont Hall of Fame c/o Deb Lemon, 4701 Howland Rd., Almont, MI 48003. All donated funds go toward honoring past athletes, coaches and contributors.
