Marjorie A. (Cupp) Nierescher of Columbus Grove, OH, and formerly of Imlay City, MI, passed from this life into the arms of the Lord after a short illness on July 19, 2023, at the age of 93. She is survived by two sons, David S. (Karen) Nierescher of Olalla, WA, and Kevin L. Nierescher of Palm Bay, FL.; three grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Chandler of Renton, WA, Justin and Emily Nierescher, of Lenox, MI.; and a great-granddaughter, Layla Chandler.

She was born on November 1, 1930, to Walter and Irene (Risser) Cupp in Monroe Township, Allen County, OH. A graduate of Columbus Grove Local School, she married Richard K. Nierescher, also of Columbus Grove, on February 8, 1951. They were married for 61 years at the time of his death in 2012. Marjorie and her family resided in Imlay City, MI, while Richard was employed at the U.S. Army Automotive Command, Warren, MI, before returning to Columbus Grove.

The youngest of four siblings, she was preceded in death by William (Pearl) Cupp; Beatrice (Roscoe) Alderman; and Richard Cupp. She is survived by nieces and nephews: Connie Cupp of Gahanna, OH; Ardaith Hamrock, J’Nice (Gary) Tuttle, and James (Nancy) Alderman all of Vienna, OH; Kenneth Cupp and Robert (Libby) Cupp.

Marjorie was a friendly, warm and caring individual devoted to her family. She had a kindness to small animals including strays, loved reading books, preserved family history materials, and was an avid Ohio State football fan. She was beloved by all who knew her.

Interment will be at a later date in Campbell Cemetery near Columbus Grove within view of the farm on which Marjorie grew up.
