Jean Louise Lendway (Storey), 93 of Dryden, passed away August 8, 2023, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born September 12, 1929, in Detroit. She was the daughter of Wesley “Charlie” Storey and Leona Palson (Crowley).
Jean married Joseph Michael Lendway, III, on May 14, 1955, in Royal Oak.
Jean was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ray Township. Jean’s special devotion to the Blessed Mother gives her family much joy in knowing they are together in Heaven. Jean was a catechism teacher for 48 years. Each and every student of hers was loved deeply by her.
Jean retired from National Bank of Detroit to raise and care for her family. Jean always put her husband, children, and grandchildren first in every aspect of life.
Jean is survived by her children, Jeanne (Roger) Vuylsteke, Joseph Lendway, IV, John Lendway, Mary (Charlie) Kanaziz and Anne Lendway; grandchildren, Bridgette (Matthew) Kruse, Lauren (Matthew) Belletini, Dominic (Ashley) Vuylsteke and Rachel Kanaziz; great grandchildren, Evelyn Vuylsteke, Blake Vuylsteke, Michael Belletini, Tyler Vuylsteke and Olivia Belletini.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Lendway III, grandchild Monica Vuylsteke, and great grandchildren Aiden Kruse and Avery Kruse.
A Requiem Mass was said on Friday, August 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 57575 Romeo Plank, Ray Twp., Michigan 48096. Burial was made at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dryden. After burial, a memorial luncheon was held at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center.
