TRI-CITY AREA — A pair of former Dryden High School volleyball standouts appear on the roster of the Macomb Community College women’s volleyball team this fall.

Becca Weiss, a 5-5 setter, is back for her second season with the program.

She contributed 191 assists and 111 digs to Macomb Community College’s cause a year ago.

It will be the first season for Addie Tresnak, a 2023 graduate of Dryden High School, on Macomb Community College’s squad.

She is coming off a solid senior campaign which saw her provide Dryden with 85 kills.

The 5-8 outside/middle hitter also generated 86 service points, including 21 aces, and contributed two blocks to Dryden’s cause.

It was her second year on Dryden’s varsity.

Tresnak completed the 2022 campaign as an All-North Central Thumb League Stars Division first team selection as well as a Tri-City Times All-Area first team choice.

Macomb Community College will be looking to improve on their 2022 campaign which saw them produce a 5-14 overall mark. That included a 1-11 showing as far as Michigan Community College Athletic Association Eastern Conference clashes were concerned.

The team opens their season Thursday, August 24 when it travels to Petoskey where it will face Alpena Community College That clash is scheduled for noon.

Macomb also squares off the following day against North Central Michigan and Henry Ford College. Those matches list 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. starting times, respectively.
