Donna McNary, age 71, of Imlay City, MI died Sunday, July 30, 2023, at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital of Lapeer, MI. Donna Suzanne McNary was born August 29, 1951, in Imlay City, MI. She is the daughter of the late Donald and the late Melba “June” (Blumline) McNary. Donna was born and raised in Imlay City, MI area. She is a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1969. Donna continued her education at Detroit College of Business and St. Clair College for business classes.
Early in Donna’s career, she was employed as a clerk in Patient Services by Lapeer County Health Department in Lapeer, MI for 19 years. She then continued her career at Dr. Matich’s office in Capac, MI and Ascension Medical in Romeo, MI.
Donna was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Capac, MI where she participated with various church functions and special decorating.
She enjoyed knitting, caring for her yard, her cats, and baking.
Donna is survived by her nieces, Laura (Michael) Vargo-Caldwell and Catherine (Mark) Filer; nephews, Reverend Fr. Chris Ankley, Matthew (Becky) Ankley, Joseph Ankley, and James (Nikki) Vargo; and her great nieces and nephews, Ava Vargo, Jude Vargo, Claire Caldwell, Nicholas Caldwell, Emily Filer, Paul Ankley, Spencer Ankley, Owen Ankley and Ethan Ankley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and June McNary; sisters, Marjorie “Marge” (Joe) Vargo and Carol (Paul) Ankley; and Jayna Ankley.
The Funeral Mass was held Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Fr. Chris Ankley officiated. Interment followed at Imlay Township Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
