IMLAY CITY — The Foutch 13U Baseball Club, which includes Imlay City’s Griffin Wetzel and Trace Dennis, claimed a first-place finish at the Bat Beasts of the Beach Tournament recently.
The tournament was contested July 22-23 in Muskegon.
The team opened tournament play Saturday, July 22 with a 17-1 win against Hastings 13U.
Later that day, they notched a 14-2 victory over Motor City Hit Dogs Bovia 13U.
The team followed that up Sunday, July 23 with a 12-1 semifinal triumph against Motor City Hit Dogs Bovia.
That placed them in the championship confrontation where the GR Diamond Dingers provided the opposition. Their encounter drew to a close with Foutch Baseball Club’s 13U team ahead 3-2.
Kole Kozma, Lucas Jennings, Lincoln Kreger, London Guerra, Brayden Wollard, Alex Jerome, Davis Metcalfe, Kyle Blocker, Tripp Robertson and Harrison Whitney joined them on the roster of the championship squad.
