JoAnn Gavey was born September 4, 1945 to Esther and Warren Foster. She died after a short illness on January 5, 2023 in Ventura, California. JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Esther (Blomquist), her father, Warren Foster, and her first husband, John Juvonen.
JoAnn held a degree in library science from the University of Michigan. She worked in various libraries including as Director of the Brandon township library. In California, she was the Activities Director at a senior living center. JoAnn loved being a Docent at the Ronald Reagan Library and Museum. She also enjoyed arts and crafts projects. JoAnn was a talented decorator.
She is survived by her husband Carl Wollin; son Sam (Vicki) Juvonen; son Todd Juvonen; stepdaughter Chris (John) Meadows; stepdaughter Patty Juvonen; stepson Tim (Molly) Wollin; brother Warren (Jeanette) Foster Jr.; sister Beverly(Mark) Lobbestael; brother George (Annette) Foster; 10 grandchildren/step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial celebration for JoAnn will be held at 3 p.m. on August 24, 2023 at the Great Lakes National Cemetery at 4200 Belford Road in Holly, Michigan.
JoAnn will be forever in our hearts. She will be loved and missed each day.
