IMLAY CITY — Everybody loves a parade and those who take in the Summer Fest parade know it’s always a crowd pleaser.
Organizers hope this year’s parade is no exception as they encourage local residents, businesses and community groups to take part in the Summer Fest parade slated for Saturday, August 12 at 4 p.m. downtown.
Boy and Girl Scouts, sports teams, first responders, police and firefighters are also welcome and encouraged to participate in the parade.
Along with the entire Summer Fest, this year’s parade features a western theme. Participants are encouraged to get creative—deck out their floats and don their western gear for the event. Trophies will be awarded in a number of categories that will be announced after the parade.
As always, parade lineup will take place at the Eastern Michigan State Fairgrounds and proceed north along Almont Ave. to Fourth St., east to Main St., north to Grove St., west to Almont Ave. and then south on Almont Ave. to return to the fairgrounds.
For more information or to sign up to participate in the parade call the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce office at 810-542-3256 or email icchamberexedir@gmail.com.
