Robert L. Spencer, age 82, of Stanton, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at his home under the loving care of his family and Corewell Hospice.

Bob was a lifelong dairy farmer and dedicated family man. He was a former board member of the Montcalm County Farm Bureau, a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA), and a member of the Day Township Board of Review. Bob was a devout Catholic and attended St. Bernadette of Lourdes Church in Stanton.  Bob loved being outdoors and enjoyed spending time at his cabin with family and friends, or just being there by himself watching the wildlife.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Surviving Bob is his wife of 60 years, Marcia; their children, Sherry (Renee) Spencer of Rockford and Rob (Tina) Spencer of Sidney; brothers, Tom (Nancy) Spencer of Attica, Gordon (Elaine) Spencer of Almont, and Dean Spencer of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Pete & Jean (Rose) Spencer; daughter, Theresa Anderson; sisters, Ilene Hyde and Sandra Harper; and brother, James Spencer.

Visitation is being held on Monday, July 17th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Stanton (225 W. Cedar St.)

A Mass of Christian Burial is being held on Tuesday, July 18th beginning at 11 AM at St. Bernadette of Lourdes Church (991 E. Main Street in Stanton).  Graveside services will be held at Sidney Cemetery immediately after Mass.
