Here is a look at who was named to the 2023 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area girls’ track lineup and the credentials they amassed along the way:

Name: Gracie Klink
School: Capac

Event: High Jump

Best effort: Klink supplied a performance of 5 feet 4 inches en route to a first Friday, May 5 at the Reese Invitational.

Top finishes: The senior generated firsts at the Reese Invitational and Vassar-based Hurd Invitational; provided seconds at the Brown City Invitational, Marlette Invitational, Harbor Beach-based Greater Thumb Conference League Meet; Green Devil Invitational in Brown City; Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invitational; a Division 4 regional hosted by Brown City High School and Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville (earning All-State accolades); plus added a third at the Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions.

Name: Bella Giannetti
School: Almont
Year: Senior
Event: Pole vault

Best effort: She managed a clearance of 8 feet for second among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic on Friday, May 12.

Top finishes: Giannetti took seconds at the Cass City Invitational, among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic and at a Stockbridge-based Division 3 regional; obtained fourths at the Marlette Invitational and Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in Richmond; furnished a fifth at the Tri-County Invitational hosted by Ortonville-Brandon High School; registered a seventh at the North Branch Invitational; plus added a 25th at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Kent City High School.

Best effort: She uncorked a school record-setting performance of 33 feet 7 1/4 inches for 13th at the Hudsonville-based Division 4 state finals on Saturday, June 3.

Top finishes: Tresnak registered firsts at the North Central Thumb League Meet hosted by Akron-Fairgrove High School as well as a Division 4 regional in Dryden; provided a second at the Marlette-based Get on Track Meet; garnered thirds at the Cardinal Classic in Dryden and among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic; supplied a fourth at the Marlette Invitational; collected an eighth at the Vassar-based Hurd Invitational; and furnished a 13th at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.

Event: DeVlaminck managed a toss of 90 feet 10 inches en route to a second Tuesday, May 9 at a quad Dryden hosted.

Top finishes: The junior generated thirds at the Vassar-based Hurd Invitational, Cardinal Classic hosted by Dryden High School, Marlette-based Get on Track Meet and North Central Thumb League Meet hosted by Akron-Fairgrove High School; took fifth at the Brown City Invitational; supplied a sixth among small school entries at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison; managed an eighth among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic; and added a 21st at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.

Best effort: She provided a school record-setting performance for first (securing All-State accolades) at the Kent City High School-based Division 3 state finals on Saturday, June 3.

Top finishes: The senior took first at the Cass City Invitational, Tri-County Invitational hosted by Ortonville-Brandon High School, Marlette Invitational, North Branch Invitational; garnered firsts among small school entries at the Corunna-based Cavalier Classic and Davison Twilight Classic; obtained number one showings at a Stockbridge-based Division 3 regional, Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in Richmond and Marysville-based Blue Water Meet of Champions; plus provided a first at the Division 3 state finals hosted by Kent City High School (earning All-State plaudits.

Johnston, the Blue Water Area Conference MVP, will continue her track career at Eastern Illinois University.

Top finishes: The senior registered firsts at the Cass City Invitational, Tri-County Invitational hosted by Ortonville-Brandon High School, Marlette Invitational and North Branch Invitational; equaled that finish among small school entries at the Cavalier Classic in Corunna as well as the Davison Twilight Classic; plus obtained firsts at a Division 3 regional hosted by Stockbridge High School, a Richmond-based Division 3 regional, the Blue Water Area Meet of Champions in Marysville and the Division 3 state meet (claiming All-State honors) hosted by Kent City High School.

Best effort: She furnished a school record-setting time of 1:00.83 for third (earning All-State accolades) at the Division 4 state finals on Saturday, June 3.

Top finishes: The junior provided a first among small school entries at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational and Davison Twilight Classic; garnered firsts at the Brown City Invitational, Cardinal Classic in Dryden, North Central Thumb League Meet hosted by Akron-Fairgrove High School, a Dryden-based Division 4 regional; and the Get On Track Meet in Marlette; obtained seconds at the Marlette Invitational and Vassar-based Hurd Invitational; plus added a third (locking up All-State plaudits) at the Division 4 state finals in Hudsonville.

Best effort: O’Brien generated a 2:45.55 clocking en route to a third during a Blue Water Area Conference meet with Armada and host Richmond on Tuesday, May 9.
Top finishes: The sophomore obtained a ninth among medium school entries at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational; furnished a 12th at the Anchor Bay Invitational; collected a 15th at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational; and added a 17th at the North Branch Invitational.

Best effort: She managed a 5:57.87 time for third at a Stockbridge-based Division 3 regional on Saturday, May 20.

Top finishes: The senior placed second among small school entries at the Corunna-based Cavalier Classic; took third at a Division 3 regional hosted by Stockbridge High School; pulled up fifth among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic; took seventh at the Richmond-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; and added a 14th among Division 3/4 entries at the SVSU Indoor Invitational.

Best effort: O’Brien notched a 13:16.51 clocking for third at the Bad Axe Hatchet Invitational on Friday, May 12.

Top finishes: The sophomore pulled up third at the Bad Axe Hatchet Invitational; registered a fifth among medium school entries at the Davison-based Shake Off the Rust Invitational; furnished a ninth at the Anchor Bay Invitational; generated 10ths at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational, North Branch Invitational and Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions; contributed an 11th at the Marysville-based Blue Water Meet of Champions; plus added a 13th at a Division 2 regional in North Branch.

Best effort: The Almont team of Christy Trisler, Ava Panduren, Montserrat Coronel and Devin Johnson posted a school record-setting time of 50.92 seconds for fourth Saturday, June 3 at the Division 3 state meet hosted by Kent City High School.

Top finishes: Montserrat Coronel, Trisler, Panduren and Johnston took first among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic, a Division 3 regional in Stockbridge and the Richmond-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; placed second at the Marysville-based Blue Water Meet of Champions; a lineup of Jacqueline Coronel, Montserrat Coronel, Chloe Brady and Trisler claimed seconds among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic; a team of Montserrat Coronel, Trisler, Panduren and Johnston provided a fourth (good enough to secure All-State plaudits) at the Kent City-based Division 3 state finals; plus a quartet of Montserrat Coronel, Jacqueline Coronel, Brady and Trisler pulled up 14th at the Tri-County Invitational hosted by Ortonville-Brandon High School.

Best effort: No matter what lineup Dryden opted to utilize, success was sure to follow.

Dryden’s quickest performance came when a team consisting of Delaney Wolle, Sophia Peter, Keira Miller and Olivia Reynolds registered a clocking of 52.26 seconds en route to a second among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic on Friday, May 12.

Top finishes: A Dryden lineup of Miller, Fitchett, Munoz Rodriguez and Wolle obtained firsts among small school entries at the Davison-based Shake off the Rust Invitational, Brown City Invitational, Marlette Invitational and Dryden-based Cardinal Classic; a team of Olivia Reynolds, Wolle, Miller and Munoz Rodriguez placed first at the Marlette-based Get On Track Meet; Dryden’s team of Reynolds, Wolle, Peter and Miller ranked second among small school entries at the Davison Twilight Classic; and a lineup of Miller, Fitchett, Munoz Rodriguez and Wolle wound up second at the North Central Thumb League Meet hosted by Akron-Fairgrove High School.
