Almont’s Lydia LaCavera arrives safely at home plate for the Foster Oilers 16U team at the Ultimate Fastpitch Showcase.

TRI-CITY AREA —The Foster Oilers 16U softball team, which lists Almont’s Lydia LaCavera and Imlay City’s Chloe Bruman on its roster, went 3-1-2 at the Ultimate Fastpitch Showcase recently.

The tournament was contested June 22-24 in Novi.

The team started things off with an 8-8 outcome versus Firecracker Klonica on Thursday, June 22.

Later that day, Foster Oilers 16U improved to 1-0-1 with a 5-3 win against Michigan Bolts Hansen.

Friday’s play was wiped out due to rainy weather conditions.

Foster Oilers 16U returned to action on Saturday, June 24. It was there they obtained a 0-0 verdict against Gold Fastpitch Gates; notched a 4-3 victory over Finesse Clemons; rolled to a 13-6 triumph against Firestix Ouellette; and absorbed a 9-7 loss to Michigan Sabercats Jozsa.

That left them with a 3-1-2 tournament mark to show for their efforts.
