Gateway Assembly offers free fun, food and more July 16-23

Member volunteers from Gateway Assembly in Imlay City offer free gasoline during last year’s This Heart Loves event.
IMLAY CITY — Mark your calendars for a week of free fun, friendship, sharing and caring as Gateway Assembly hosts its annual ‘This Heart Loves’ summer event.
Beginning Sunday, July 16 and ending on Sunday, July 23, Gateway will offer a variety of free services, food, fuel and more at locations in Imlay City and Almont.
‘This Heart Loves’ kicks off on Sunday, July 16 with Summer Fest Sunday from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. The event includes a zipline, kids zone, petting zoo, carnival food, hourly giveaways, a car show and oil changes by appointment.
On Monday, July 17 visitors can receive free medical checkups, sports physicals for those ages 13 and up, backpacks filled with supplies, access to a ‘thrift room, and haircuts. The featured event on Tuesday, July 18 is free gasoline while supplies last at the Shell Station, 546 N. Cedar St., Imlay City, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and at the Vinckier gas station, 4545 N. Van Dyke, Almont, from 2-6 p.m.
Two semi-loads of free food will be up for grabs on Thursday, July 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., while supplies last.
The week culminates with ‘This Heart Loves Sunday’ on July 23 from 9-11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join in the celebration.
