BOARD MEETING SYNOPSIS
June 12, 2023
Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Supervisor Winn. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Members present: Parks, Klos, Winn, Christian & Wittstock. May minutes approved. Treasurer’s report approved. Fire report: Interim Chief Hartway requested to go into closed session to discuss his employment with the department. Request approved and closed session was 7:33 p.m.- 7:53 p.m. Hartway was terminated from all Berlin Township Fire Department duties during the regular board meeting after restarting from the closed session. Planning Commission: pheasant farm site plan approved and plan from Rock Solid Landscape approved (for old bank site on Capac Road) . Senior report: regular activities attended and new benches will be installed asap. Park report: Country Garage Sale will be June 15/16/17 and Farmers Market will be on Wednesdays with no charge to come and set up to sell your approved items. Discussed: weed control spray will be applied at the park and the cemeteries, R & R invoice for $26,763.60 will be paid, Semco granted 10’ easement on Holmes Road in exchange for $4,715, limestone haul/chloride application will happen as soon as Road Commission gets more limestone, Melissa Bollaert is the new Deputy Treasurer and audit issues mentioned. Audience: questions about a vacant home were discussed. Motion to pay the bills made and accepted. Motion to adjourn 8:50 p.m. A complete copy of the unapproved current minutes is available at the township hall during business hours and on the township website within a couple days of the meeting.
