Almont’s Chase Battani clears the pole vault bar in a meet earlier this spring.

ALMONT — Almont generated a pair of top-ten finishes and Dryden managed one last Friday at the MITCA Michigan Champion of Champions Festival in Davison.

Chase Battani had the best Almont showing that day. His pole vault clearance of 14 feet 6 inches, a personal-record, paid off with a second.

Dolan Gonzalez, competing for Spirit of Pre, won the event with an effort of 15 feet.

Matthew Bacholzky also represented Almont, pulling up ninth among long jump contestants with a performance of 18 feet 4 1/2 inches.

Quincy Isaac (Dearborn Track Club) took event honors with an effort of 22 feet 7 3/4 inches.

Olivia Reynolds, of Dryden, also gave a good account of herself. Reynolds placed third among 200 dash entrants, thanks to a personal-best clocking of 27.31 seconds.

Callie Sieler, competing unattached, won the event with a time of 26.37 seconds.
