Almont’s Wade Szydlowski (R) is off and running in the 800 at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet last week.

TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont and Imlay City boys’ track squads ranked fourth and sixth, respectively, at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, May 23.

Richmond High School is where the meet was contested.

Yale topped the standings with 207 points. They were followed by North Branch (103 points), Cros-Lex (64), Almont (56), Richmond (37), Imlay City (29), Armada (25) and Algonac (three).

Chase Battani, pole vault, 13 feet; and Drew VanDyke, discus, 139 feet; led Almont with individual event firsts.

The Almont 800 relay of Matthew Baczholzky, Nolan Maxlow. Wade Szydlowski and Tim Miller took second as well. They were timed in 1:35.49.

VanDyke, shot put, 40 feet 8 inches; supplied Almont with an individual event third.

Almont’s 1600-meter relay of Cole Walton, Maxlow, Bacholzky and Szydlowski pulled up third as well. It took them 3:40.91 to accomplish the feat.

Bacholzky, long jump, 19 feet 9 inches; managed an individual event fourth for Almont.

The Almont 400 relay of Brendan Cynowa, Carson Wood, Miller and Walton placed fourth in 47.11 seconds.

William Larkin, pole vault, 10 feet 6 inches; Bacholzky, 400-meter dash, 55.09 seconds; Syzdlowski, 800 run, 2:09.22; contributed fifths for Almont.

Miller, 200-meter dash, 24.78 seconds; collected an individual event sixth for Almont.

Almont also received a sixth courtesy of their 3200 relay of Jacob Biolchini, Gavin Campbell, Alex Heiden and Larkin. They were timed in 9:58.45.

Luis Barragan, 110 (18.57 seconds) and 300 -meter (47.7 seconds) hurdles; Alan Valdovinos, 200 dash, 24.6 seconds; collected fourths for Imlay City.

Kade Vanderploeg, long jump, 19 feet 2 1/2 inches; Conner Wildie, 110 (18.72 seconds) and 300-meter (47.98 seconds) hurdles; Isaac Sommer, 1600 run, 5:00.41; and Jaden Giles, 3200-meter run, 11:20.02; supplied Imlay City’s fifths.

The Imlay City 400 (Enrique Cardenas, Noah Graboyes, Barragan and Valdovinos) and 800 (Ethan Everhart, Cardenas, Graboyes and Valdovinos) relays wound up fifth as well. They were timed in 47.33 seconds and 1:39.13. respectively.

Kyle Torres, pole vault, 10 feet; and Everhart, 400-meter dash, 55.78 seconds; furnished Imlay City’s individual event sixth.

Imlay City also received a sixth from their 1600 relay of Noah Hartman, Everhart, Sommer and Vanderploeg. They were timed in 4:03.66.
