Capac’s Derek Mason struck out 15 batterrs in a win versus Memphis last week.

CAPAC — Capac beat host Memphis two times in a Greater Thumb Conference varsity baseball doubleheader last Thursday.

In the opener, Capac rolled to a 13-0 win against Memphis.

Wiley Roose led Capac with four singles. He was given assistance in the hitting department by Carlos Uribe Arce (a single and a double), Tim Bochatyn and Mason Smith (a double each) along with Sam Schneider, Tim Bochatyn, Trenton Tice and Brody Tesnow (a single apiece).

Mason was Capac’s pitcher of record. He allowed one hit over seven innings, struck out school record 15 and walked one en route.

In the second game, Capac notched an 8-3 victory over Memphis.

Mason paced Capac with a pair of singles. Tesnow and Smith (a double each) plus Jose Rodriguez, Schneider, Bochatyn and Uribe Arce (a single apiece) supported their performances.

Zach Langmesser and Bochatyn shared the pitching responsibilities for Capac. They gave up six total hits, struck out seven and walked five.

With the outcomes, Capac now stands at 18-11 overall and 7-5 as far as GTC clashes are concerned.
