ALMONT — The Almont varsity softball team halved a Blue Water Area Conference doubleheader Monday with visiting Richmond.

In the opener, Almont handed Richmond a 5-0 setback.

Grace Koenig led Almont with a single and a homer. She was backed by Brooklyn Bunch, Kendall Roszczewski and Devin Johnston (a double each) along with Elly Schapman, Lydia LaCavera and Lauren Webster (a single apiece).

Myah McLean was the winning Almont pitcher. She allowed seven hits over seven innings and walked two en route.

In the second game, Richmond pulled out a 5-4 victory over Almont.

Koenig (a single, a double and a triple) proved Almont’s toughest out. Johnston and LaCavera (two singles each) plus Bunch and Schapman (a single apiece) supported her performance.
