TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont boys’ golf team claimed three of the top-five medalist positions, paving the way to a first-place finish at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament.

Monday’s showing marked the seventh time in the last eight seasons Almont has earned the distinction of BWAC champions.

Almont’s 313 output paced the seven-team field assembled. They were followed by Cros-Lex (333), North Branch (335), Richmond (348), Armada (365), Yale (390) and Imlay City (486).

Cam Bourdeau led Almont with a medalist round of 73. Clay Rosczewski posted a 75, the day’s third best total, and Manny Goldstein claimed fifth medalist accolades on the strength of an 81. The Raiders also counted Nolan Roszczewski’s 84.

For Imlay City, Carter Couzens was low with an 18-hole round of 105. He was backed by Anthony Chippewa (108), Luke Erman (133) and Matthew Webb (140).
