TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont girls’ tennis squad netted three-way tie for second place last Friday at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament.
Armada is where the action unfolded.
When the final scores were tallied, Yale (17 points) paced the field assembled. They were followed by Armada, Almont and Cros-Lex (11 points each), Imlay City (10) along with Algonac and Richmond (six apiece).
The second doubles team of Avis Schapman and Natalie Frederick headlined for Almont. The combination had a day to remember, winning their flight title despite entering the day as the number five seed.
Andrea Frederick (first singles) added a second to Almont’s cause.
Hannah Sapp led Imlay City that day, placing first at second singles.
Emma Keeping (second singles) provided Imlay City with a second.
Imlay City also received a third courtesy of Hanna Frederiksson (fourth singles).
