CAPAC — Capac High School will hand out diplomas to graduates on Sunday, May 14. Seniors, along with family, friends, teachers and other school staff will pause to celebrate their many accomplishments, including a myriad of academic achievements.

What follows are those graduates whose academic performance earned them a spot among Capac High School’s Class of 2023 Top Academic Achievers.

Samantha Killingbeck – Valedictorian

Samantha is the daughter of Owen and Misty Killingbeck and is the sister to Lindsey and Clyde Killingbeck and Dakota Bertrand. She participated in volleyball, soccer, track, Future Farmers of America and National Honor Society throughout her high school career and plans to study Human Biology and attend Michigan State University in the fall.

Paul Camire – Salutatorian
4.0000 GPA

Paul is the son of Paul and Danielle Camire and the brother to Hugh, Jack and Margaux. Paul participated in golf, bowling, and National Honor Society throughout his high school career. His hobbies include working on vehicles, beekeeping, riding quads, golfing and bowling and he plans to study business at St Clair County Community College in the fall.

Alexis Zientak
3.9333 GPA

Alexis is the daughter of Tony and Nicole Zientak and the sister to Brendan. Alexis attends Career Technical Middle College (CTMC) and studies Computer Programming. Her hobby is playing video games and  she plans on attending St. Clair County Community College in the fall.

Rachael Mirling

Rachael is the daughter of Gary and Jennie Mirling and the sister to Brandon, Jeramie, Kevin, Cameron and Tyler. Rachael participated in softball, volleyball and National Honor Society throughout her high school career. Her hobbies include quality time with friends and family, camping, swimming, sports, and art. Rachael plans to complete her 13th year at Blue Water Middle College.

Paige Hansen
3.9167 GPA

Paige is the daughter of John and Jodi Hansen and the sister to Haleigh. Paige participated in softball, volleyball, quiz bowl, National Honor Society, Student Council, and yearbook throughout her high school career and her hobbies include sports and spending time with family and friends. Paige plans on studying Occupational Therapy and attending Saginaw Valley State University in the fall.

John is the son of Fred Schoen and Trisha Sparrow and the brother to Brooke. John participated in cross country, wrestling, track and golf throughout his high school career and his hobbies include both welding and eating. John plans on studying Business and Actuarial Science and attending Michigan State University in the Fall.

Kyle Wetter

Kyle is the son of Steve and Jaime Wetter and brother to Bella and Jake. Kyle participated in cross county, bowling, golf, track, and National Honor Society and his hobbies include hunting and fishing. Kyle plans to attend Northern Michigan University in the fall.

Catherine Williamson

Catherine is the daughter of Steven and Amy Williamson and sister to Zachary. Catherine participated in soccer and volleyball throughout her high school career and her hobby is singing. Catherine plans to study Liberal Arts and finish her 13th year at St. Clair County Community College.

Liviya is the Daughter of Brian Tank and Tara Cascaddan and the sister to Bryce and Adam. Liviya participated in volleyball and soccer throughout her high school career, and her hobbies include going on adventures and being around her friends. Liviya plans on studying Science and plans on finishing her 13th year at St. Clair County Community College before transferring to Ferris State University.

Julia is the daughter of Brian Schaefer and Cindy Berlinger and the sister to Bradley. Julia participated in basketball, volleyball softball and Four County Community Foundation throughout her high school career, and her hobbies include sports and spending time with family and friends. Julia plans on studying Occupational Therapy and plans on finishing her 13th year at St. Clair County Community College before transferring to Saginaw Valley State University.

Adam Kramer

Adam is the son of Jason and Katie Kramer and the brother to Kassidy. Adam participated in wrestling, football, and baseball during his high school career, and his hobbies include listening to music and sports. Adam plans to attend Wayne State University in the fall and study Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.

Preston Lottie

Preston is the son of Jayne Lottie and the brother to Athena and Thomas. Preston participated in student council, quiz bowl, theater, marching band, and National Honor Society throughout his high school career, and his hobbies include reading, outdoor activities, cooking, traveling, and drinking Diet Coke. Preston plans to study Biology at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

Gracie Klink

Gracie is the daughter of Jason and Amy Klink and sister to Ava and Max. Gracie participated in volleyball, basketball, and track throughout her high school career, and her hobbies include high jumping and listening to Harry Styles and the City. Gracie plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University in the fall to study Neonatal nursing.

Owen Ympa

Owen is the son of Brian and Jennifer Ypma. Owen participated in golf throughout his high school career, and his hobbies include restoring cars and trucks. Owen plans on joining the workforce upon graduation from High School.
