ALMONT — Almont swept visiting Sandusky in a non-league varsity baseball doubleheader last Thursday.
In the opener, Almont claimed a 12-2 win against Sandusky.
Ayden Ferqueron and Tyler Filinger led Almont with a double each. They were backed by Austin Swain, Trenton Kruse, Cody Koval, Jason Lane, Liam Webster and Giovanni Marracco (a single apiece).
Ferqueron got the win with relief help from Kruse. They allowed five total hits, struck out four and walked five.
In the second game, Almont posted a 12-5 victory over Sandusky.
Max Koskodan (a single and a double) along with Connor Nascivera, Caden Nascivera, Luke Winkler and Ferqueron (two singles each) paced Almont with multiple-hit performances. The Raiders also had Brendan Cole, Kruse and Swain (a single apiece) reach the hitting column.
Koval, Winkler and Matthew Redmond shared the pitching responsibilities for Almont. They gave up nine total hits, struck out 12 and walked four.
