ALMONT — Almont swept Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference doubleheader it hosted last Wednesday.
In the opener, Almont earned a 16-1 win against Cros-Lex.
Elly Schapman (a single, a double and a grand slam), Kylie Tennant (two singles and a triple), Brooklyn Bunch (a pair of doubles) and Lydia LaCavera (a single and a double) led Almont with multiple-hit efforts. Devin Johnston (a triple), Kendall Roszczewski, Lauren Webster and Gabby Carlson (a single each) supported their performances.
Myah McLean was the winning Almont pitcher. She allowed two hits over four innings, struck out six and walked none.
In the second game, Almont secured a 15-0 victory over Cros-Lex.
Koenig (a single, a double and a home run) and Johnston (a single, a double and a triple) put up Almont’s best plate credentials. They were backed by Schapman (a double and a triple), Bunch (a single and a double), Roszczewski and LaCavera (a triple apiece) along with Webster, Tennant and Carlson (a single each).
McLean was Almont’s pitcher of record. She gave up three hits over five innings, retired two on strikes and walked none.
