Capac outfielder Julia Schaefer looks to throw out Imlay City’s Hope Schriber at third during doubleheader last Thursday.

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City downed Capac twice in a non-league varsity softball doubleheader it hosted last Thursday.

In the opener, Imlay City registered a 6-2 triumph against Capac.

Brook Ross (a double and a homer) and Natalie Stone (a single and a double) led Imlay City with multiple-hit performances. They were backed by Reese Schmidt (a double) along with Chloe Bruman and Brie Hund (a single each).

Hope Schriber was the winning Imlay City pitcher. She gave up seven hits, struck out nine and walked none.

Julia Schaefer and Chloe Schocke (two singles apiece), Gabby Tice (a double) along with Skielar Tesnow and Madalyn Roberson (a single each) furnished Capac’s hits.

In the second game, Imlay City pulled out a 10-8 victory over Capac.

Stone (two singles, a double and a triple), Chloe Bruman (two singles and a double), Schmidt (a single and a double), Yesenia Rojas and Schriber (two singles apiece) plus Isabella Lindquist and Mikayla Bruman (a single each) accounted for Imlay City’s hits.

Gabby Cremeans and Schriber shared the pitching responsibilities for the victorious Imlay City side. They allowed 10 total hits, struck out six and walked two.

Tesnow (a single and two doubles), Roberson (a double and a homer), Schocke (a single and a home run), Christina Howard (two singles) and Schaefer (a single) provided Capac’s hits.
