TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City varsity baseball team halved a doubleheader versus visiting non-conference rival Capac last Thursday.

In the opener, Imlay City dropped an 11-10 verdict to Capac.

Beau Hund (two singles and a double), Sam Edson (two singles), Tavin Hill (a double) along with Tyler Pries, Brendan Monville, Zach Edson, Aden Guerrero and Clayton Penzien (a single each) managed Imlay City’s hits.

Brody Tesnow (three singles), Wyatt Hurley (a single and a triple), Tim Bochatyn (a single and a double), Mason Smith and Sam Schneider (two singles apiece), Jose Rodriguez (a double), Trenton Tice (a single) were the Capac players who reached the hitting column.

Tesnow and Bochatyn shared the pitching responsibilities for the winning Capac side. They gave up 11 total hits, struck out six and walked none.

In the second game, Imlay City bounced back with a 7-3 victory over Capac.

Monville and Zach Edson (two singles each) plus Joey Bieganowski, Beau Hund and Penzien (a single apiece) supplied Imlay City’s basehits.

Hund was the winning Imlay City pitcher. He allowed eight hits, struck out three and walked none.

Bochatyn (a pair of doubles), Smith (two singles) plus Tesnow, Tice, Hurley and Rodriguez (a single each) accounted for Capac’s hits.
