Marilyn Margaret Anderson, 84, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died April 23, 2023.

Marilyn was born May 30, 1938, in Lapeer to parents Fred and Ernestine (Maasch) Bonesteel. She graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1957. Marilyn married James M. Anderson on September 17, 1966 in Lapeer. Through the years Marilyn worked at a factory, drove bus and was a courier at Lapeer General Hospital. Above all, Marilyn was a loving mother and grandmother. In her spare time she loved her gameshows, dogs, travel, elephants and above all – time spent with her grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Kevin (Carrie) Stroup of Richmond and Pamela (Troy) Brewer of Burton; eight grandchildren, Zachary (Miranda), Shane (Hannah), Casey, Brianna, (Charlie), Brandon (Courtney), Carrigan (Antonio), Carissa (Alex) and MiKaela; and nine great-grandchildren, Zackary, Presley, Piper, Nathalia, Waylon, Adalynn, Luke, Ezekiel and Mia; and brother, Fred (Joan) Bonesteel of Fostoria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Anderson; son, Chris Stroup; brothers, Butch Bonesteel and Dennis Bonesteel and her aforementioned parents.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Mrs. Anderson’s funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Muirs. Pastor Jake Gieseler will officiate. Burial will follow immediately in Attica Township Cemetery.
