Diane Barbara Charbeneau, age 91, of Imlay City passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 19, 2023. Diane was born in Detroit, MI on August 21, 1931 to Joseph and Barbara J. (Lustan) Koltys. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Mt. Clemens MI, Class of 1950. Diane was married to Rodney P. Charbeneau on May 3, 1952 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Mt. Clemens. Their growing family resided in Lakeport and Mt. Clemens, MI before settling in Imlay City in 1966.
Diane’s many passions included sewing, baking, knitting, and crocheting, writing cookbooks, caring for her children and grandchildren, singing with various vocal groups, bookkeeping for the family businesses, and reading. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City, and active in the Altar Society. She was a hospice volunteer, a member for Right to Life, the MSU Homemakers Extension Group, and enjoyed socializing at the Senior Center of Imlay City. Diane was most proud of her family and their accomplishments.
Diane was the loving mother to Cheryl Kalisz, Cathryn (Brian) Grachal, R. Joseph (Elizabeth “Betsy” Papcun) Charbeneau, Colleen (William) Wildner, Steven Charbeneau, and Douglas (Dawn Mattson) Charbeneau. She was a devoted grandmother to Adam and Alan Kalisz, Aimee (Andrew) Dijkers, Angela (Timothy) Parslow, Erika and Josef Charbeneau, Will Aaron (Amanda) and Alexander (Kaytee) Wildner, Dakota (Emily) Charbeneau, and Brooke Charbeneau. She was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.
Diane was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Conrad Koltys; sisters, Alecia and Delphine; and an infant daughter, Aimee. She was cherished by many relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed.
A Funeral Mass was offered for Diane at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 3834 N. Mill St. in Dryden on April 25.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
