Anita Sharon Treece, 78, of Lapeer, passed away April 12, 2023. She was born in Detroit, MI on November 21, 1944, to the late Rufus and Cathryn Treece. Anita retired from Ford Motor Co. where she was a member of the UAW Local 400 and worked as a seamstress where she sewed seat covers among other interior components. Through the years she enjoyed many different types of crafts and hobbies including porcelain doll making, artificial flower arranging and painting. Anita was most well known for her love of quilting and sewing. Over the years she created many quilts and personal items for family and friends. She loved to cook for her kids, grandkids, family and friends. The most important joy in her life was her family who she loved.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Gary) Kelley; son, Steven Treece; daughter-in-law, Lisa Treece; grandchildren, Tiffany (Eric) Grosskopf, Rachel Jane, Logan (Kirsten) Treece, Holly (Cory) Horst, Madison Treece, Elena Treece, Garrett Treece, Crystal Kelley, Contrina Kelley, and Gary (Mindy) Kelley Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Joann) Treece, Norm (Janet) Treece, Wes (Carol) Treece, Tom Treece and Kenny Treece; sisters, Shirley Gonzalez, Diane (Jack) Senyk and Denise (Craig) Foss; also many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 19 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors – Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Pastor Tim Martin officiated.
