ALMONT — The Almont varsity baseball team split a pair of contests with Blue Water Area Conference rival Yale this past week.
Almont opened that two-game stretch with an 8-4 road loss to Yale on Monday, April 10.
Luke Winkler paced Almont with three singles The Raiders also had Tyler Filinger (two singles) along with Max Koskodan, Liam Webster, Jason Lane and Giovanni Marracco (a single apiece) reach the hitting column.
Two days latter, Almont bounced back with an 11-9 win against Yale.
Lane (three singles) along with Aidan Ferqueron and Koskodan (two singles each) put up Almont’s top plate credentials. They were backed by Filinger (a home run), Cody Koval and Winkler (a double each) plus Trenton Kruse (a single).
Koval got the win in relief for Almont. He allowed one hit over three innings, struck out five and walked two.
