BOARD MEETING SYNOPSIS
April 10, 2023
Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Treasurer Parks. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Members present: Parks, Klos, Christian & Wittstock. Winn was absent. March minutes approved. Treasurer’s report approved. Planning Commission: regular meeting: one request was tabled, questions about splits and interest in a parcel for sale; wetland public hearing: Niswander Environmental was present and was looking to move forward with board approval – after lengthy discussion, approval was given to move forward. Fire report: nobody was present to give a report, last 2 monthly run sheets have not been turned in and questions on $8763.60 overage on front suction install remain unanswered (bill will not be paid at this time). Senior report: regular activities attended and grant submitted for benches. Park report: Easter Egg Hunt went well, Country Garage Sale will be June 15/16/17, and brackets being ordered for “Fallen Heroes” banners; local mom is starting “Walking Wednesdays” at 6pm at the park for new friends to meet. Discussed: adopted Resolutions 2023-02 through 2022-05 (Elected Officials’ Salary); adopted: Holiday Schedule and Fee Schedule; approved: chloride application contract, General budget, bank of record (Choice One), newspaper of record (Tri-City Times), election worker schedule and Berville Lions request to host fireworks (6/23 with rainout date as 6/25). Fire Department budget was not approved, as expenses need to be balanced correctly between “regular operating expenses” and “new equipment purchases” (bills will still be approved and paid at board meetings). Audience: discussion about Semco project. Motion to pay the bills made and accepted. Motion to adjourn 8:35pm. A complete copy of the minutes is available at the township hall during business hours.
