
Imlay City’s Emma Keeping returns a shot in Monday’s match with Flint Kearsley.
IMLAY CITY — Imlay City fell by a 5-3 count to visiting Flint Kearsley in a non-league girls’ tennis encounter Monday.
With the outcome, Imlay City now stands at 0-1 this season.
In individual action, Emma Keeping netted a 6-1, 6-0 top flight win; Hannah Sapp picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory at second singles; Drew Wetzel dropped a 4-6, 7-6, 7-10 third flight verdict; and Ginger Gottler fell 4-6, 2-6 at fourth singles.
As far as doubles play was concerned, Aubrey Sommer and Elizabeth Lauwers fell 6-7, 2-6 top flight count; Alexa Lengemann and Addison Cameron registered a 6-7, 7-5, 10-8 win at second doubles; Karter Wetzel and Winter Muxlow dropped a 1-6, 3-6 third flight verdict; plus Julia Metter and Morgan Vermeesch fell 1-6, 0-6 at fourth doubles.
