CAPAC — Capac swept host Vassar in a varsity softball doubleheader last Thursday.
In the opener, Capac registered a 15-0 triumph against Vassar.
Paige Hansen (a single, two doubles and five RBI), Jewel Rickman (a single, a double and four RBI), Rachael Mirling (two singles, a double and one RBI), Skielar Tesnow and Madalyn Roberson (two singles and a double each), and Julia Schaefer (two singles and a stolen base) led Capac with multiple-hit performances. They were backed by Robin Owens (three RBI).
Roberson was the winning Capac pitcher. She allowed one hit, struck out eight and walked none.
In the second game, Capac rolled to a convincing 19-2 victory over Vassar.
Roberson (two singles, a double and four RBI), Owens (three singles and four RBI), Chloe Schocke (a single, a triple and four RBI), Schaefer (two singles and a stolen base) put up Capac’s best offensive numbers. Tesnow (a single, one RBI and a stolen base), Rickman (a single and two RBI), Nevaeh Mason (single and one run scored) plus Hansen and Mirling (a single apiece) supported their performances.
Roberson was Capac’s pitcher of record. She gave up three hits, struck out 13 and walked none en route.
