ALMONT  — The Almont girls’ track team (109 points) outscored Reese (103), Marlette (91), Unionville Sebewaing (66.5), Ubly and Bad Axe (56 each), Vassar and Harbor Beach (49 apiece), Cass City (48) and EPBP Laker (28.5) en route to a first-place finish last Thursday at the Cass City Invitational.

Johnston

Devin Johnston, 100 (13.33 seconds) along with the 200 (27.59 seconds) and 400-meter (1:03.25) dashes; led Almont with three firsts that day.

Bella Giannetti, pole vault, 7 feet; and Montserrat Coronel, long jump, 14 feet 2 1/4 inches; provided Almont with individual event seconds.

The Almont 400 (Montserrat Coronel, Chloe Brady, Madi Niedermaier and Jacque Coronel) and 800 (Montserrat Coronel, Lauren Webster, Chloe Brady and Jacque Coronel) relays gave Almont seconds as well. They were timed in 58.29 seconds and 2:06.33, respectively.

Lilylynn Martin and Niedermaier, pole vault, 7 feet; contributed a shared third to Almont’s cause.

Niedermaier, long jump, 13 feet 4 1/4 inches; Brady, 100-meter hurdles, 19.87 seconds; and Laila Evola, 3200 run, 15:16.51; notched Almont’s fourths.

Brady, 300 hurdles, 1:01.24; collected an outright individual event fifth for Almont.

The Almont 3200 relay of Haley Dempz, Ayla Delaurier, Martin and Evola were fifth as well. They were timed in 12:36.39.

Bella Irwin and Giannetti, high jump; 4 feet 2 inches; shared a fifth in their event.

Montserrat Coronel, 100-meter dash, 14.75 seconds; supplied Almont with a sixth.

Erin Maxinoski, discus, 56 feet 11 inches; and Savanna Siewert, 3200-meter run, 16:15.2; notched Almont’s sevenths.

Bella Medley, discus, 55 feet 5 inches; and Amanda Fitchett, 3200 run. 16:48.61; furnished Almont with individual event eighths.

The Almont 1600-meter relay of Jacque Coronel, Webster, Dempz and Delaurier were eighth as well. They took 5:14.73 to accomplish the feat.
