Economic Club hosts Ryan Tarrant

LAPEER — Business owners, executives, and leaders can take a deeper look into plans to make Michigan a leading state for jobs, education and economic growth at an upcoming meeting of the Economic Development Club of Lapeer.
On Thursday, April 27, the club will host Ryan Tarrant, COO of Business Leaders for Michigan at the Lapeer Country Club. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at noon.
According to an EDC press release, Tarrant is “a collaborative leader who combines the skills from an accomplished private sector career with an extensive record of public service and a reputation for getting things done.
“He is passionate about making the world work better for all people and uses an inclusive problem-solving approach to make a difference.
Business Leaders for Michigan aims at “making Michigan a Top 10 state for jobs, education, widely shared prosperity and a healthy economy,” says businessleadersformichigan.com.
Current priorities include improving K-12 education, particularly in areas of math and reading; developing, attracting and retaining talented, skilled workers and professionals; accelerating economic growth and improving the state’s tax and business climate, fiscal conditions and business regulation.
