IMLAY CITY — Imlay City kicked off the 2023 campaign with an 8-0 setback to visiting Blue Water Area Conference girls’ soccer counterpart Armada last Wednesday.

In Wednesday’s matchup, Armada jumped out to a 6-0 advantage at the half.

Armada then followed it up with a 2-0 second half edge, closing out an 8-0 win.

Cassie Verellen and Jessica Peters led Imlay City with strong defensive performances, according to Spartan Coach Bailey Boyer.

Alycia Robertston drew the goalkeeping assignment for Imlay City. She was credited with four saves.
