Russell Neal Jessel, age 59, a lifelong resident of Almont, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 20, 2023. Russell was born January 24, 1964 in Almont, the son of Carl and Ruth (Ricketts) Jessel. Russ was a 1982 graduate of Almont High School. On October 22, 1988, he married his high school sweetheart, Christine Safko. They spent a beautiful 34 years loving each other.
Russ was self employed. He had opened his own garage door business, Almont Door. Russ was a hardworking man, who provided for his family for years. Russ enjoyed most spending time with his wife, three beautiful children, and friends. Most recently, he has enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Coby. Russ will be deeply missed by everyone.
Russell is survived by his wife, Christine; children, Ryan of Almont, Brandon of Imlay City, Jacqueline (Dylan) Hinton of Columbiaville; grandchild, Coby Hinton, and another arriving in August 2023; siblings, Cliff (Pat) of Attica, Gary (Lynn) of East Lansing, Randy of Otter Lake, Brian of Tulsa OK, Karen (Mark) Shaw of Port Huron, Anne (Randy) Medley of Berville, and Carol (Dan) Dekeokkeok of Comstock, MI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Greg; and parents, Carl and Ruth.
