Gary Joseph LaCroix, age 81, a longtime resident of Dryden, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was born January 25, 1942, the son of Charles and Thelma (Houthoofd) LaCroix in Mt. Clemens. Gary lived a full, happy and loving life. He grew up in Port Huron and attended St. Stephen Catholic High School. Gary married his high school sweetheart, Margie Zimmer, on October 9, 1965. He retired from General Motors after many years of service. Gary loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and golfer. He also enjoyed bowling, watching football and golf and playing cards. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Teresa LaCroix of Dryden, Kris (Tony) Ruhala of Almont, Nancy (Jack) LaCroix of Lapeer; and his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Garrett Ruhala and Kallan Ruhala. He is also survived by Dan (Andy) Sellers of Davison; Tom (Jane) DuBois of Lapeer; his sister, Sharon Raymond of Port Huron; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margie; his grandson, Ryan; his parents; and sister, Thelma (Snookie) Wilton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 6 p.m. Memorial visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Alzheimer’s Association.
