Douglas “Doug” Davis, age 73, of Imlay City, MI died Sunday, March 19, 2023 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital of Lapeer, MI. Douglas Allen Davis was born April 3, 1949 in Pontiac, MI. He was the son of the late Clyde and the late Kathryn (Piper) Davis. Doug grew up and attended Clarkston High School in Clarkston, MI. Doug proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War 1969-1971. He married Rosemary Donnelly on June 24, 2016 in Lapeer, MI. Doug and Rosemary lived in Fostoria, MI before moving to Imlay City, MI five years ago.
He was employed as a painter by General Motors – Fisher Body in Pontiac, MI and Orion plant for 30 years before retiring in 2000.
Doug was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and model cars. Doug was very mechanically inclined.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Davis; daughter, Jamie Lynn (Charlie Ross) Davis of Fostoria, MI; his sister, Nancy (Kerry) Kulusic of Oxford, MI; brother, Phillip Paul Davis of Warren, MI; and his grandchildren, Madalyn and Jacob.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Kathryn Davis; son, Joseph Ryan Davis; and his sisters, Ailane Davis, Linda Constiple, and Jeanette Plue.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 6835 Weyer Road, Imlay City, MI. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly, MI at 10 a.m., Friday, March 24.
The family will be available for visitation 2-5 & 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI and 10-11 a.m., Thursday, March 23rd at Crossroads Baptist Church.
