Donald Norman Wheeler, age 79, passed away March 19, 2023. He was born March 23, 1943 in Almont, the son of Irvine and Helen (D’Arcy) Wheeler. He graduated from Dryden High School in 1960. Donald was an avid farmer for many years. His passion was to raise Berkshire pigs for 4-H kids to show at local fairs.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Donalee (Bryan) Zender of Almont; grandchildren, Joshua (Chantel) Zender of Almont, Rachel (Ben) Horton of Imlay City; loving grandchildren Kylo, Zachary and Lily. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Thomas and Dale.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 3-8 p.m. with the funeral service on Friday at 11 a.m., all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI 48444. Burial will be private at Westlawn Cemetery in North Branch.
Memorial donations can be may be made to the Lapeer County Animal Control.
