Robert J. Burgess, 91, lifelong resident of Almont, passed away Thursday March 9, 2023 at his home. He was born July 2, 1931 in Almont, the son of James and Jean (Paton) Burgess. He graduated from Almont High School. He married Elizabeth Cutcher in 1961 and worked as a laborer in Local #1076. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Almont.
Bob enjoyed working in his yard, especially mowing his lawn, as well as trips to Florida spending time on the beach.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his children, Claudia Burgess, Paul J. Burgess, Denise Burgess, Robert E. Burgess, Lisa M. Burgess and Dustin Burgess; stepchildren, Bryon V. Landon and Debbra A. Landon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Grant R. Burgess.
Funeral arrangements are being planned for a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
