DRYDEN — Dryden dropped a 61-33 verdict to Genesee Christian in a Division 4 boys’ district basketball title clash last Friday night.
Morrice High School is where the game was contested.
With the outcome, Genesee Christian moves to 19-5 overall. Dryden wraps up a 14-10 campaign.
In Friday’s clash, Dryden spotted Genesee Christian a 15-9 advantage after one quarter was complete.
Quarter two saw Genesee Christian generate 15 points and Dryden manage three, good for a 30-12 lead at the half.
When the action resumed, Genesee Christian widened the gap some. Thanks to a 13-9 third quarter edge, the Soldiers increased their cushion to 43-21 with 24 minutes gone.
Genesee Christian then outscored Dryden 18-12 the rest of the way, assuring themselves of a 61-33 victory at night’s end.
Jacob Burgess (11) and Jaylin Taylor (10) led Dryden with double digit point totals that evening. They were backed by Dorian Lewis (five points), Noah Slagle (three) along with Sonny Coscione and Jacob Buffo (two apiece).
