Our Dad, Douglas David Campbell, passed away on March 1, 2023 at the age of 86. He and Mom, Mary Lou Dowling Campbell, just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on January 3, 2023.

Douglas David Campbell was born January 27, 1937 to Louis and Doris (Snover) Campbell in Imlay City, MI. Dad left school at the end of the 11th grade, later receiving his G.E.D. while proudly serving 4 years in the United States Navy. On the top of the list for him and Mom to do was see all four of their children graduate from high school and go on to be the best they could be in their own life (which they did).

He leaves behind to remember all manner of things he liked to say; his wife, Mary Lou Campbell of Attica, MI; four children, Terry Jean (Eugene) Cambre of Presque Isle, MI, Calvin Scott Dowling of Maybank, TX, Debra Faith (Jeff) White of Columbiaville, MI and Cheryl Lynn Campbell of Imlay City, MI; his sister, Mary Lou Bissett of Imlay City, MI; brothers, Dale (Ruth) Campbell of Atlanta, MI and Harold (Cathy) Campbell of Lapeer; MI, five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Out of respect, as well as following his wishes, cremation has taken place just to be remembered with good memories and no formal service. His most famous saying was “Whatever will be will be.”
