Our beloved parents, Victor and Christy Whitehead passed away after 54 years of marriage. Victor, 78, passed away on January 29, 2023 and Christy, 73, reunited with him on February 3, 2023 after a vehicle accident.
Victor Whitehead was born on January 18, 1945 in Boston, MA to Harold and Olive Whitehead. He enjoyed golf, classic cars, building houses and boating/fishing. Christy Whitehead was born on February 11, 1949 in Gainesboro, TN to Austin and Emma Murphy. She enjoyed shopping, her cats, jewelry and fashion. As a couple, Vic and Chris were generous, loving, and kind. They liked to go out on their boat, cruising in Vic’s 55 Chevy and south to Florida every winter to escape the cold weather. They both loved spending time with family and friends, and had meaningful and happy lives.
They are survived by their sons: Jason Whitehead, Michael Whitehead and Chad Whitehead. Grandchildren: Marissa Valente Salloum, Lily Valente and Jane Valente.
Brothers and sisters: Lawrence Whitehead, David Whitehead, Deborah Whitehead Koelzer, Susan Murphy Wilson, Jeanette Murphy Jenuwine, Peggy Murphy Lentz, Malinda Murphy McFadden, David Murphy.
They were predeceased by Harold and Olive Whitehead, Austin and Emma Murphy and Maggie Murphy Phillips.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. with Visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke-Imlay City, MI 48444. Inurnment will be made on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 12:30pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd-Holly, MI 48442. If you will be attending, please arrive at cemetery by 12:15pm.
