IMLAY CITY — Community members are invited to learn more about a new transportation service, Rides to Wellness by GLTA, at a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held Monday, March 6 at 2 p.m. at the Imlay City Senior Center.

Attendees will have a chance to view Rides to Wellness vehicles and speak to representatives from the Greater Lapeer Transportation Authority (GLTA) about this premium transportation service.

Rides to Wellness by GLTA is an easy-to-use service offered by GLTA that’s designed to transport Lapeer County residents to medical and health-related appointments, plus other locations that foster wellness such as pharmacies, grocery stores, farmers markets and other community resources.

The program’s concept was created as part of a transportation coalition that included representatives from GLTA, the United Way of Lapeer County, Lapeer County Community Foundation, Four County Community Foundation and others.
