Dear Editor,

We are hoping your readers will be able to participate in a “Benefit for Jake Hampton.” All are invited to a Taco and Nacho Dinner, held Saturday, March 11, 1-6 p.m. at the Deerfield Township Hall, North Branch. Adults $10, Kids $5, 5 and under are free, all proceeds go to help Jake and his young family.

Jake is a lifelong resident of North Branch. He is the single father of 3 boys under the age of 11 and the son of John and Tracy Utley. Jake loves tacos, working with engines, and spending time with his kids.

On January 9, he was in a catastrophic accident on the farm causing significant damage to his lung and shoulder. Jake has been in a medically induced coma in the Surgical ICU at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit ever since. Although he is strong and making steps in the right direction, the only timeline that the doctors can provide for his recovery is, “long with more surgeries and lots of therapy.” Medical, travel and family expenses will continue to add up as Jake progresses through recovery without the ability to work and provide for his family.

For cash donations: Venmo @Donations4Jake or contact John at 810-441-9029, BenefitForJake@gmail.com. For raffle donations and other details text Sandy at 810-358-4582 or Tammy at 810-625-2851.
