Imlay City’s Matt Evans is fouled by a North Branch foe in Friday’s matchup.

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City posted a convincing 63-36 win against visiting North Branch in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball meeting last Friday night.

With the decision, Imlay City moves to 8-9 and 6-4. North Branch falls to 6-11 and 2-9.

In Friday’s meeting, Imlay City took a 15-13 edge after one quarter was done and widened the gap to 28-19 at the half.

When the action resumed, Imlay City struck with a 14-11 third quarter edge. That increased their cushion to 42-30 with 24 minutes gone.

Imlay City then outscored North Branch 21-6 from that point on, assuring themselves of a 63-36 win at night’s end.

Beau Hund led Imlay City with a 21-point performance. Zander Nash (12) supplied a double digit point total as well. The Spartans also received points courtesy of Matt Evans (eight), JD Trout (seven), Greg Pawlaczyk (six), Caleb Debaecke (four), Tyler Pries (three) and Andrew Cezik (two).
